Yuma, AZ – A 48-year-old male bicyclist was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Yuma in April.

The Yuma Police Department responded to the collision at around 11:41 p.m. on April 28 in the 1400 block of West 8th Street.

The police said 24-year-old Israel Preciado and 20-year-old Yancy Antonio were inside a 2015-2020 silver or gray Chrysler 300C that struck the bicyclist.

The suspects fled the scene after the incident.

The male bicyclist was rushed to Onvida Health before being flown to a Phoenix-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Preciado and Antonio were arrested and booked on numerous felony and misdemeanor offenses, including leaving the Scene of an Accident, assault, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, hindering prosecution, false reporting and criminal damage.

More information about the crash was not provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
