Driver Killed in Fullerton Head-On Collision near Richman and Orangethorpe Avenues
Fullerton, California (September 16, 2023) – A motorist was killed after a head-on crash Friday night in Fullerton, according to a police report.
The crash occurred at around 9 p.m. September 15 near Richman and Orangethorpe avenues.
An eastbound white 2006 Honda Civic was speeding on Orangethorpe approaching Richman when it veered into oncoming traffic to avoid rear-ending another eastbound vehicle traveling in front of it at a slower speed.
After swerving into oncoming westbound traffic, the Civic collided head-on with a grey 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.
The Honda driver was transported to a trauma center and declared deceased.
The driver of the Pathfinder, a 44-year-old Fullerton man, and his 8-year-old female passenger both suffered minor injuries.
The name of the deceased was not immediately released.
No additional information about the incident was given.
The crash remains under investigation.
