Preliminary reports indicate that a 25-year-man was driving a Saab 9-3 southbound on Fairmount Avenue when he tried to pass another vehicle and crashed into the rear of a Toyota Camry that was disabled in the No. 2 southbound lane.

San Diego, CA – A woman was killed in a chain-reaction collision involving three vehicles in the Talmadge neighborhood on Wednesday night.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash was reported at around 10:05 p.m. on May 20, in the 4900 block of Fairmount Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 25-year-man was driving a Saab 9-3 southbound on Fairmount Avenue when he tried to pass another vehicle and crashed into the rear of a Toyota Camry that was disabled in the No. 2 southbound lane.
The impact of the collision pushed the Camry into a Honda Fit, whose driver had pulled over to assist the stranded motorist.
A woman who sitting inside the disabled Camry was declared deceased at the scene. There was no update on the identity of the deceased woman.
It’s unclear whether there were any other injuries in the accident.
Authorities reported that driving under the influence was not believed to have played any role in the collision. The crash remained under investigation.
