Mesa, AZ – Authorities have identified the person who was killed in Sunday morning’s rollover crash involving a passenger van on State Route 24 in Mesa as 51-year-old Evon Zubah.

According to investigators, the crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on May 24 on Highway 24 near Signal Butte Road.

Reportedly, the driver of a sedan ran a red light and collided with a large passenger van.

The force of the impact caused the van to overturn and come to rest upside down on the roadway.

Police said 10 people were traveling inside the van at the time of the collision. Zubah suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Seven other occupants of the van and the driver of the sedan were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.

Mesa police stated that impairment does not appear to have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
