Long Beach, CA. – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a wrong-way crash on Monday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway along the Gerald Desmond Bridge at around 12:30 a.m.

A vehicle was traveling the wrong-way when it was involved in a violent crash.

Two people were injured in the accident and were taken to hospital.

It was not immediately clear whether impairment or speed were factors.

The southbound lanes of the freeway were closed and were eventually opened around 2:10 a.m.
