According to police, a woman was lying on the road for unknown reasons when she was struck by a vehicle.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Police closed 24th Street in both directions from McDowell to Palm Lane to facilitate on-scene investigations.
