Long Beach, CA – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach Monday morning.
The Long Beach Police Department responded to the crash at around 6:45 p.m. on Long Beach Boulevard and Willow Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 61-year-old Long Beach man was driving a 2005 GMC when he made a right turn from westbound Willow Street onto northbound Long Beach Boulevard and struck the woman as she walked in a marked crosswalk.
The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The police said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the wreck.
No further details about the crash were provided.
