Wasco County, OR – Two drivers were killed Monday night following a head-on collision on Highway 26 in Wasco County, according to Oregon State Police.
The deceased were identified as 31-year-old Dagoberto Moreno-Prada of Eugene, who was driving a gold Volvo semi-truck hauling a 53-foot intermodal container, and 35-year-old J Natividad Martinez-Colin of Vancouver, Washington, who was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Authorities said the incident occurred when the semi-truck lost control on Highway 26 and crossed into the opposite lane, triggering a head-on collision with the Jeep. The impact caused the intermodal container to break free from the trailer. The container and Jeep went through the guardrail and came to rest off the highway, while the semi-truck continued rolling before stopping in the roadway.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway remained affected for approximately eight hours while authorities investigated the crash and crews worked to remove the vehicles and debris.
Warm Springs Fire & Safety, the Warm Springs Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted Oregon State Police at the scene.
The collision remains under investigation.
