Wasco, CA – One man was killed, and another suffered major injuries in a head-on crash at an intersection in Wasco Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 46 and Wildwood Road, and involved a white Ford pickup and a white Chevrolet pickup.
According to the CHP, the male driver of the Chevrolet pickup suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The driver of the Ford pickup, identified only as a male, suffered major injuries and was transported by Hall Ambulance for medical treatment.
Kern County Fire Department firefighters performed an extrication to remove the deceased driver from the Chevrolet pickup.
The circumstances that led to the collision were not immediately known. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
