Preliminary reports indicate that a female was riding a scooter in the northbound side of Sonoma Boulevard when she fell onto the roadway. The rider was subsequently hit by a passing vehicle.
Vallejo, CA – A scooter rider was killed in a collision involving a vehicle on Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, the accident was reported at about 1:49 p.m. May 6, near Kentucky Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a female was riding a scooter in the northbound side of Sonoma Boulevard when she fell onto the roadway. The rider was subsequently hit by a passing vehicle.
When VPD officers arrived at the scene, they found medics attending to the pedestrian, who sustained life-threatening injuries.
The victim was then rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity was not immediately released.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
According to the VPD, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs were not suspected in the incident and no arrests were announced.
The exact circumstances of the accident remained under investigation by the Vallejo Police Department.
