Update: Sean Birdsell ID'd as Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on West Ocean Avenue and South Bailey Avenue in Lompoc

Lompoc, CA – The San Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau has identified a motorcyclist killed in a Tuesday evening collision on West Ocean Avenue in Lompoc as Sean William Birdsell, 53, of Lompoc.

The Lompoc Fire Department, and California Highway Patrol personnel responded to the incident on West Ocean Avenue and South Bailey Avenue at 4:10 p.m. on February 25.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck driven by Katherine S. Hanberg, 83, of Lompoc, was stopped on South Bailey Avenue when for unknown reasons, she pulled out directly into the path of the motorcyclist, who was headed east on Ocean Avenue.

Birdsell was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Hanberg was not injured in the collision.

Lompoc, CA.- A motorcyclist was killed in a collision that took place in Lompoc on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The crash occurred at W. Ocean and S. Bailey avenues at about 4:10 p.m.

A man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was involved in a collision with a pickup truck.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The woman driving the pickup truck was not injured.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
