Orcutt, CA. – A motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Saturday morning at an intersection in Orcutt .
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:15 a.m., August 16, at Orcutt Road and Siler Lane.
Investigators said a man was riding a black Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Orcutt Road at an unknown speed near Siler Lane.
At the same time, a white Chevrolet truck was traveling southbound on Orcutt Road at about 40 mph, approaching the intersection with Siler Lane.
The driver of the truck slowed down to turn left, but ended up turning in front of the Suzuki motorcycle.
The motorcyclist hit the right rear of the Chevrolet. The rider was ejected, landing onto the hood of a Mercedes-Benz traveling behind the Chevrolet.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz stopped the car, sending the rider onto the roadway.
The motorcyclist was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The man was later pronounced dead at the facility.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Orcutt, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a multi-vehicle crash at an intersection on Orcutt Saturday morning, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said in a report.
The major injury collision happened at the intersection of Orcutt Road and Shirley Lane just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a sedan, a utility pickup truck, and a motorcycle were involved in the crash.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the incident. Responding crews performed CPR on the injured rider before transporting them to Marian Regional Medical Center via ground ambulance, the SBCFD said.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The collision remains under investigation.
