According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened on December 26, 2024, on Loop 303 near West Peoria Road.
West Valley, AZ – The coroner’s office has identified the pedestrian struck and killed in a crash on Loop 303 in West Valley last week Thursday as 79-year-old German Perez Ortiz Jr., of Surprise.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened on December 26, 2024, on Loop 303 near West Peoria Road.
According to a preliminary investigation, Ortiz Jr. was believed to be retrieving a ladder that fell off his vehicle when he was struck by a truck.
Ortiz Jr. was pronounced dead at the crash site.
An investigation is underway.
