Phoenix, CA – Two people were transported to a hospital after being involved in a collision between two vehicles in Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on May 23, near 38th and Peoria avenues.

Authorities reported that a silver SUV and a black pickup truck were involved in the incident. The exact circumstances under which the vehicles crashed were not released.

Phoenix police and the emergency crews responded to the scene and located the drivers of the involved vehicles.

Both motorists were taken to a hospital for treatment. One of the drivers had life-threatening injuries

The collision led to the closure of the eastbound lanes of Peoria Avenue as authorities worked to clear the scene.
