Two Sisters and Infant Killed in Wrong-Way Accident on State Route 60 near Reservoir Street in Pomona Identified

, CA – The coroner's office has identified the two sisters and an infant killed in a wrong-way collision on in Pomona late Saturday night as Jazmin Ramos, 29, her sister, Rachel Moreno, 39, and 1-year-old Ezra Aziel Espinoza.

The tragic traffic collision was reported at around 11 p.m. on March 22 on State Route 60 near Reservoir Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Reports revealed that 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez of Pomona was driving an eastbound car in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he collided head-on with a Honda Civic occupied by two women and an infant.

Ramos and Moreno were declared dead at the scene while Espinoza died days later.

Rodriguez sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized before being arrested for driving under the influence.

No additional information was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.

Pomona, CA. – Two women died, and a child was hospitalized after the car they were traveling in collided head-on with a DUI suspect driving the wrong way on a freeway Saturday night in Pomona.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 11 p.m. on the westbound 60 Freeway, just west of Reservoir Street.

According to investigators, 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez of Pomona was driving a car eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he collided head-on with a Honda Civic occupied by two women and a child.

The wrong-way vehicle spun out after the first impact and struck another car.

The two women in the Civic, a 29-year-old driver and a 39-year-old passenger, died in the collision.

A 1-year-old child in the Civic was hospitalized with major injuries.

An occupant in the third car was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police said Rodriguez was hospitalized with severe injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Investigators closed several traffic lanes for more than six hours following the collision.

Pomona, CA.- Two people were killed in a collision involving a wrong-way driver in Pomona late Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on the 60 Freeway at about 11 p.m. March 22.

According to the CHP, a driver was traveling east on westbound 60 Freeway when they collided with an oncoming vehicle.

At least two parties involved in the crash, both women, died in the accident.

Multiple westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the collision.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
