North Hollywood, CA. – Two people were killed and two others were hospitalized after a fiery crash early Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The collision occurred around 1:43 a.m. on 11615 W Vanowen Street, south of Lemp Avenue.
Officials said a silver vehicle traveling westbound left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and hit several parked cars.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel used hydraulic tools to free the occupants.
A 30-year-old man in the left rear passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Two 19-year-old men were also transported for treatment.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later reported that two fatalities occurred in the crash, but did not mention the second person.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the LAPD.
