San Diego, CA.- The woman who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in the Bay Park neighbourhood of San Diego last week on Friday has been identified as Stacy Denton, 71, according to the authorities.

The crash took place in the 2900 block of Morena Boulevard at around 4:20 a.m. September 5.

Denton was reportedly pushing a shopping cart on Morena Boulevard when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.

A person passing by the scene noticed Denton laying unconscious in the roadway.

Denton was rushed to UCSD Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased shortly after.

The driver who hit Denton fled the scene after the crash.

There was no description of the suspect or vehicle involved in the collision.

Authorities are investigating the hit-and-run accident.
