Spring Valley, CA – A 49-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley late Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred in the 9800 block of Jamacha Boulevard at approximately 10:35 p.m. on February 13, 2026. Authorities said the victim was pronounced dead at 11:05 p.m.
Investigators reported that Gale Nelden Skinner III, 49, of Spring Valley, was driving a sedan that collided with an SUV, which had been involved in another vehicle collision moments earlier on the same roadway. The sequence of events leading up to the initial crash involving the SUV was not immediately released.
Skinner sustained blunt force injuries in the crash. Law enforcement and fire personnel extricated him from his sedan after arriving at the scene. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
Officials stated the manner of death was ruled an accident, with blunt force injuries listed as the cause of death and no contributing conditions identified.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Next of kin have been notified.
The crash caused disruptions along Jamacha Boulevard in the area of the 9800 block while authorities conducted the on-scene investigation and cleared the wreckage.
The Spring Valley crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
