Sergio Maya Dies in Harbor City Crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Western Avenue

Harbor City, CA.- A bicyclist who was killed in a crash involving two hit-and-run motorists in Harbor City on Thursday afternoon has been identified as Sergio Maya, 35, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The incident took place at around 12:55 p.m. September 25, on the Pacific Coast Highway near Western Avenue.

A silver van heading west on the PCH made a turn infront of an eastbound motorcycle and the two collided, according to the LAPD.

The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and was then hit by an older model pickup traveling westbound.

The motorcyclist, later identified as Maya, died at the scene despite efforts by the medics to save him.

The LAPD is searching for the two drivers, who fled the scene after hitting the motorcyclist.
