The crash occurred at approximately 11:42 a.m. on September 18 at Arrow Highway and Avenida Barbosa.
Irwindale, CA – An elderly man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision Friday morning on Arrow Highway in Irwindale, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the deceased driver as Roy Crunk, 81. Crunk died at the scene from traumatic injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:42 a.m. on September 18 at Arrow Highway and Avenida Barbosa.
Authorities said a semi-truck hauling gravel, a transport van, and two other vehicles were involved in the collision.
One of the vehicles caught fire following the crash. A water truck working at a nearby National Ready Mix facility responded and helped put out the fire.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward with information that could help clarify what happened. Anyone with relevant information or video is asked to contact Irwindale Police Department Motor Officer Jaycon Sanchez at 626-430-2244.
The crash remains under investigation.
