According to the investigators, a 2024 Isuzu box truck traveling on southbound Highway 99 pulled to the right shoulder due to a flat tire.

Selma, CA – One person was injured in a collision involving a big rig in Selma on Saturday morning.

Shortly before 9 a.m. August 8, the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash on Highway 99.

According to the investigators, a 2024 Isuzu box truck traveling on southbound Highway 99 pulled to the right shoulder due to a flat tire.

A few minutes later, a fuel tanker drifted into the right shoulder, for unknown reasons, and slammed into the stopped vehicle.

Due to the impact of the crash, the truck rolled over and burst into flames. A Honda passing by was struck by debris from the collision.

The driver of the fuel tanker was transported to Community Regional Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.

There were no other injuries reported in the collision.

Firefighters also responded to the scene and helped put out the fire.

The highway was temporarily shut down while authorities worked at the scene.

No additional details were immediately available. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
