Stockton, CA – Two drivers were injured in a big rig collision that happened early Saturday morning on Highway 99 in Stockton, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck took place on July 18, 2026, on northbound Highway 99 south of Acampo Road.
According to CHP, the incident occurred when a 17-year-old driver of a Nissan slammed into a guardrail, then veered back into traffic lanes, where the car collided with a big rig hauling strawberries.
The impact caused the semi-truck to veer off the roadway and overturn back on the highway.
Emergency personnel transported the big rig driver to the hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
The teen driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries.
Authorities do not believe drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Multiple traffic lanes were closed until just before 11 a.m. following the collision.
