According to police, the man was riding a bike near the intersection when he was hit by a Recology waste truck

Seattle, WA – A 30-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood on Monday afternoon.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the collision happened near the intersection of East Yesler Way and 12th Avenue South at around 4:30 p.m. on May 1.
According to police, the man was riding a bike near the intersection when he was hit by a Recology waste truck. The circumstances under which the incident happened were still under investigation.
The victim was rushed Harborview Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries later in the day.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the bicyclist as Christian Salyer, 30.
The driver of tre truck stayed at the scene and was evaluated for impairment by the Seattle Police Department.
No additional details were immediately released. The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
