Santa Clarita, CA – Authorities have released the identity of a woman who was killed in a car collision that took place in Santa Clarita on Friday night.
Sylvia Lux, 49, of Canyon Country, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office, died at the scene of the crash that was reported at around 11:30 p.m. February 6, on Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies with the Santa Clarita Station and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and located multiple injured people.
A preliminary investigation found that two vehicles were involved in the accident, though the events leading up to the collision remained undetermined.
Paramedics transported a person to a hospital with major injuries but the patient later succumbed to their injuries. The medical examiners office has not released the victim’s name pending positive identification and notification of the next-of-kin.
Several other parties were transported to the hospital. The condition of the hospitalized patients was not immediately released.
The incident forced the closure of the intersection for several hours. Authorities continue to investigate the accident as they work to ascertain its cause.
