San Jose, CA – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on US 101 in San Jose late Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the southbound side of US 101 just north of Hellyer Avenue at approximately 10:32 p.m.
Reports indicate that a white Honda Civic and a gray Tesla were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision, and the impact left the vehicles blocking multiple lanes, including lanes 1 and 3, as well as the center divider.
At least two individuals sustained injuries in the crash. One party was transported to Kaiser Santa Teresa, while another was taken to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. The injuries were described as minor. No arrests were reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, though speed may have been a contributing factor.
Emergency responders, including San Jose Fire Department personnel and medical teams, arrived at the scene to assist the injured and manage traffic. Tow services were requested to remove the damaged vehicles.
The crash resulted in lane closures on southbound US 101, causing traffic disruptions in the area before all lanes were eventually reopened.
The incident remains under investigation.
