San Fernando, CA – At least one person sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in San Fernando on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 10:46 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near the westbound State Route 118 connector.
CHP logs indicate the crash involved a gray sedan and a Caltrans Ford F-550 maintenance truck.
According to the CHP, at least one person was seriously injured in the collision.
Authorities requested separate tow trucks for both vehicles, including a medium-duty tow for the damaged Caltrans truck, which sustained rear axle damage.
Multiple lanes remained closed for more than two hours while crews cleared the wreckage and conducted the investigation. All lanes reopened shortly after 1:00 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
