According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident was reported around 7:02 p.m. on May 24 in the 2100 block of Pacific Beach Drive at Noyes Street.

Teenage Boy on E-Bike Injured after Colliding with SUV in Pacific Beach

San Diego, CA – A 15-year-old boy riding an e-bike was injured after colliding with an SUV Sunday evening at an intersection in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident was reported around 7:02 p.m. on May 24 in the 2100 block of Pacific Beach Drive at Noyes Street.

Authorities said the boy was riding a Zooz eBike westbound, and a 17-year-old girl was driving a 2022 Kia Niro westbound on Pacific Beach when she attempted to make an illegal U-turn at Noyes Street.

The cyclist struck the driver’s side of the SUV.

Paramedics transported the boy to a hospital with a fractured right femur. He is expected to recover.

Police said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
