San Bernardino, CA – Authorities are investigating a head-on collision that left at least one person injured on Tuesday afternoon in San Bernardino.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, authorities responded shortly before 5 p.m. March 24, to the accident on Cajon Boulevard/ Route 66.
Investigations reveal that a dark gray Toyota Corolla sedan crashed head-on with an oncoming silver Ford Escape SUV. The crash was reportedly caused by a driver who drifted into the oncoming lanes at a curve near Swarthout Canyon Road.
The CHP officers and crews with the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded immediately after receiving reports of the collision and attended to the people involved.
After evaluation, medics transported one patient to a hospital for further treatment. There was no update on the condition and identity of the injured patient.
The involvement of impairment or speed has not been ascertained. An investigation by the California Highway Patrol is currently ongoing.
