Running Springs, CA – At least one person suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 18 in Running Springs on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:27 p.m. Monday on State Route 18 at All View Drive.
Preliminary reports indicate the crash involved a Jeep and a Toyota 4Runner. The impact caused the Toyota 4Runner to overturn onto its hood, trapping two occupants inside.
At least one person sustained major injuries in the crash. CHP logs indicate one trapped victim was struggling to breathe, prompting an urgent response from firefighters and rescue personnel. The identities and conditions of those involved have not been released.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and worked to free the trapped occupants from the damaged vehicles. CHP officers also responded and conducted an on-scene investigation.
The collision blocked both lanes of State Route 18, although traffic was able to pass around the crash scene. The roadway remained impacted while emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage and assist the victims. State Route 18 was fully reopened by approximately 2:44 p.m.
