Victorville, CA – The woman who was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash at a Victorville intersection late last month has died, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
The County Medical Examiner identified the deceased woman as 52-year-old Veronica Correa.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. on May 31, 2026, at the intersection of Eleventh Avenue and Cypress Avenue in a residential neighborhood of Victorville.
Investigators said a dark gray 2007 Honda Accord and a gray Toyota Tundra collided in the number one southbound lane of Eleventh Avenue. Following the impact, the Honda Accord sustained severe driver’s-side damage, left the roadway, struck a chain-link fence, and came to rest partially inside the front yard of a nearby residence.
Correa was trapped inside the Honda Accord and had to be extricated by firefighters using hydraulic rescue tools. She was initially transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center before being airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center with major injuries. Authorities said Correa later died on June 4, 2026, while receiving treatment. The driver of the Toyota Tundra, an adult male Victorville resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests were reported.
Deputies from the Victorville Police Station, along with personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported.
The crash closed Eleventh Avenue between Lone Eagle Street and Hickory Avenue for several hours while authorities investigated the scene.
The cause of the Victorville crash has not yet been released and remains under investigation by the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team.
