According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly incident took place just after 4:30 p.m. July 28, near Dodson Road South and Frenchman Hills Road West

Royal City, WA – Authorities have released the identities of the family members involved in a crash that claimed the lives of four people and injured five others in rural Royal City on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly incident took place just after 4:30 p.m. July 28, near Dodson Road South and Frenchman Hills Road West.
Authorities reported that a car was trying to cross the intersection when it was hit on the side by a semi-truck. The exact circumstances under which the wreck happened were not immediately established.
Four family members riding in the car were all declared deceased at the scene. The victims have been identified as Martin Tran, 34, Joseph Tran, 69, Theresa Tran, 66, and Thomas Tran, 39, all of Tacoma.
One other person riding in the car, identified as Michael Tran, was flown to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland and was listed in critical condition.
Three people riding in the semi-truck were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities reported that neither speed nor impairment were suspected to have factored in the accident but authorities believe that the car driver’s failure to yield to the right of way was a factor.
An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
