Thousand Oaks, CA – A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck Sunday night on Potrero Road in Thousand Oaks, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The teen was injured in the crash that happened just after 11 p.m. on July 5, 2026, just west of Wendy Drive.
According to investigators, the incident started when a driver stopped on the road to drop the 16-year-old girl, whose vehicle was parked in a dirt turnout.
At the same time, a 17-year-old boy was driving a pickup truck, approaching the stopped car.
The teen driver drove onto the right shoulder and struck the teenage girl as she was walking to her car.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the girl on the ground, unconscious and with serious injuries. The victim was taken to Los Robles Hospital for treatment.

Thousand Oaks, CA. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Thousand Oaks on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:07 p.m. in the area of Wendy Drive and W Potrero Road.
Officers found a Toyota Tacoma with moderate front-end damage, a black Audi SUV, and an injured pedestrian at the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
