Rosa Saucedo-Negrete Among 3 Killed in Hesperia Accident on Mariposa Road near Mesquite Street

Hesperia, Calif.- Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, 59, of Barstow, was among three people killed in a crash with a suspected DUI driver in Hesperia on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station.

The accident took place on Mariposa Road near Mesquite Street at about 3:42 p.m. February 20.

According to the report, Pavlo Padilla, 45, of Victorville, was driving a black 2016 Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Mariposa Road when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a southbound blue 2005 Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as Pedro Valencia-Perez, 58, of Barstow, and one of his passengers, Jose Valencia-Saucedo, 22, of Barstow, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second passenger, identified as Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, was later pronounced deceased at a trauma center.

A third passenger in the Toyota, Francisco Valencia-Saucedo, 21, of Barstow, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Pavlo Padilla was also being treated for serious injuries and was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury or death, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The incident is under investigation.
