Preliminary reports indicate that a big rig traveling northbound on Jefferson Street was trying to make an eastbound turn onto Indiana Avenue and crashed with the bicyclist.
Riverside, CA – A bicyclist was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Thursday morning at an intersection in Riverside.
According to the Riverside Police Department, the collision occurred at around 10:25 a.m. September 24, on Indiana Avenue and Jefferson Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a big rig traveling northbound on Jefferson Street was trying to make an eastbound turn onto Indiana Avenue and crashed with the bicyclist.
Emergency crews immediately responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on the bicyclist.
Despite their efforts, the rider succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The victim’s identity was not available in the initial police reports.
The big rig driver was at the scene when authorities arrived and was uninjured in the incident.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation by the Riverside Police Department.
