Phoenix, AZ – 61-year-old Darren Rama died after his motorcycle collided with an SUV Monday morning at an intersection in north Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident was reported around 9:50 a.m. on 19th Avenue at Grandview Road, south of Bell Road.
Police said Rama was riding a Honda VF750 motorcycle south on 19th Avenue when the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe made a left turn in front of him at Grandview Road.
The motorcyclist crashed into the SUV.
The Phoenix Fire Department responded shortly after the crash and pronounced Rama dead at the scene.
The SUV driver stopped and remained at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the factors surrounding the crash.
