Phoenix, AZ – A motorcyclist died, and a driver was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the collision was reported around 5:30 p.m. on June 14, 2026, at Bell Road and 12th Street.
Reportedly, a man was riding a motorcycle down Bell Road at a high rate of speed when he collided with a car making a left turn onto 12th Street. The impact pushed the vehicle into another car stopped for the red light.
The man on the bike was rushed to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that was first hit was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
Authorities said while investigators were working the scene around 9:15 p.m., an officer was doing traffic control in the area when his vehicle was struck by another car. That officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the civilian car was arrested after showing signs of impairment.
