According to a report by the Phoenix Police Department, the accident took place near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, west of Thunderbird High School, just after 3 p.m. on August 25.

Phoenix, AZ – A girl who was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian collision near a north Phoenix intersection on Tuesday afternoon has succumbed to her injuries.
According to a report by the Phoenix Police Department, the accident took place near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, west of Thunderbird High School, just after 3 p.m. on August 25.
Investigators reported that a 15-year-old girl was walking across the driveway entrance to the apartment complex when a vehicle made its way into the driveway and hit her.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. Authorities confirmed that the girl later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The driver who struck the girl was at the scene when police arrived and was cooperative with law enforcement.
The identities of the deceased girl and the involved driver were not immediately released.
The cause of the deadly accident remains under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department.
