The PPD reported that an elderly woman was trying to walk across Camelback Road, outside of a crosswalk, when she was hit by a vehicle.

Phoenix, AZ – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking across a street in Phoenix on Friday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The accident happened near the intersection on 20th Avenue and Camelback Road at around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
The PPD reported that an elderly woman was trying to walk across Camelback Road, outside of a crosswalk, when she was hit by a vehicle.
Police officers and the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the accident and found the victim unresponsive at the scene.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was declared deceased. The victim’s identity was not released.
The driver was unhurt in the collision and reportedly cooperated with investigators. According to PPD, the driver did not display any signs of impairment.
Further details regarding the crash were not available. The Phoenix Police Department is still investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
