According to police, Cardona was driving an SUV westbound on Union Hills Drive at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for a red light and collided with a four-door car that was making a left turn onto 35th Avenue

Phoenix, AZ.- The two people who were killed in a collision in Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon have been identified by the Phoenix Police Department.
Pedro Lopez Cardona, 37, and Boniface Black, 63, died in the crash that occurred near 35th Avenue and Union Hills Drive shortly before 2:15 p.m. October 15.
According to police, Cardona was driving an SUV westbound on Union Hills Drive at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for a red light and collided with a four-door car that was making a left turn onto 35th Avenue.
Cardona was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
A passenger in the second vehicle, identified as Boniface Black, 63, was also killed in the crash.
The driver of the car was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
