Portland, Ore. – A pedestrian was killed in a car accident early Friday morning, the Portland police said.
The fatal collision happened at around 4:40 a.m. on Interstate 84 near Interstate 205 exits.
Police said the pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle for unknown reasons.
Responding officers found the pedestrian unresponsive. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The involved motorist was also found at the crash site.
Police blocked eastbound Interstate 84 at Northeast 68th Avenue.
The vehicles were detoured off the highway due to the collision.
Traffic delays were experienced in the location.
