Rosa Badillo Killed, 4 Hospitalized after Car Accident on Highway 395 near Milepost 12 in Umatilla County

Umatilla County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified a victim killed in a traffic collision on in Umatilla County as Rosa Maria Badillo, 74, of Pasco.

The crash happened on State Route 395 near milepost 12 on March 4.

A preliminary investigation indicated a silver Buick Lacrosse operated by Celestino Chavarria Nunez, 65, of Pasco (WA), was headed southbound on the highway when it turned left onto on-ramp.

The Buick struck collided head-on with a red Toyota CHR, operated by Tabitha J. Ritzer, 41, of Hermiston.

Nunez was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries while his passenger, Badillo was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Another Buick passenger Flores-Mendoza,81, of Pasco (WA) was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. J. Eleazar Flores, 59, of Pasco (WA), who was also riding on the Buick was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Ritzer and a 10-year-old female were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.

An investigation is underway.
