Long Beach, CA.- A pedestrian was struck and Killed by a vehicle in Long Beach on Friday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The incident took place on 67th Street and Paramount Boulevard just before 4:05 p.m. September 19.
Police reported that an adult male was walking north in the middle of the roadway outside of the crosswalk when a southbound 2019 International semi-truck hit him.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim’s name was withheld pending identification and notification of the next-of-kin.
The driver of the big rig, a 51-year-old Long Beach man, stayed at the scene and was not suspected to have been impaired.
The accident is under investigation.
