, CA. – A man was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a pickup while crossing Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The collision occurred around 6:23 a.m. near the intersection of Haynes Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway.

Police said the man was crossing Pacific Coast Highway when an eastbound 2023 Ford F-150 hit him.

Officers performed life-saving measures before Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and took over.

Despite the efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Wilmington, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities said it is still unclear whether speed, distraction, or impairment contributed to the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
