Palm Desert, CA – Authorities have released the identity of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle early this month in Palm Desert.
Shannon Daly, 66, of Mill Creek, was identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau as the victim killed in the accident that occurred on Portola Avenue and Retreat Circle at around 7:40 a.m. March 3.
Investigators reported that Daly was hit by a vehicle at the intersection. It’s unclear how the accident occurred.
Daly was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries later that morning.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Daly stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
Investigations reveal that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

According to the police, the accident happened at Portola Avenue and Frank Sinatra Drive at around 7:40 a.m.
The officers who responded found the woman in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
