Palm Desert, CA – A Monday morning collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian left one person with major injuries in Palm Desert.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, authorities received reports of the accident at about 9:44 a.m. February 9, on El Paseo and Ocotillo Drive.
Deputies reported that a person on foot was hit by a white pickup truck at the intersection. The report did not specify which direction the pedestrian and the truck were headed.
Medics evaluated the pedestrian at the scene and determined that they had sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to a hospital for further treatment.
The driver was at the scene when the authorities arrived and was cooperative with law enforcement investigating the incident.
At this time, the identities of the pedestrian and the involved motorist have not been released and it remains unclear whether impairment played any role. There were no reports of any arrests in connection to the accident.
