Investigations revealed that a 59-year-old man was driving a Porsche Cayman westbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a westbound Kia that was stopped for a red light at the intersection.
Pacific Beach, CA – One person was killed and several others injured in a multi-vehicle collision that led to the arrest of one of the drivers in Pacific Beach on Wednesday night.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place on Mission Bay Drive and Garnet Avenue at around 7:59 p.m. on July 22.
Investigations revealed that a 59-year-old man was driving a Porsche Cayman westbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a westbound Kia that was stopped for a red light at the intersection.
The impact sparked a chain-reaction collision involving seven other vehicles at the intersection.
The driver of the Kia was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. He was only identified as a 32-year-old man.
Three other parties riding in other involved vehicles were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.
The driver of the Porsche was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter following the accident.
