The pedestrian accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. on September 8 at the intersection of Northeast 137th Avenue and Northeast 99th Street.

Orchards, WA – A 55-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning after a pickup truck struck her while she was crossing a road in a marked crosswalk in Orchards, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The pedestrian accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. on September 8 at the intersection of Northeast 137th Avenue and Northeast 99th Street.
Investigators determined that a white 2012 Ford F-150 was traveling east on Northeast 99th Street when its driver turned right onto Northeast 137th Avenue. The woman was crossing the avenue in the crosswalk with her dog when she was hit by the truck.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital by AMR for treatment of serious injuries. Her dog was not hurt and was later reunited with its family.
The pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver was released pending the results of a toxicology investigation. The sheriff’s office said impairment may have contributed to the crash.
Parts of Northeast 137th Avenue and Northeast 99th Street were closed while deputies investigated the collision.
The crash remains under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
