Tulare, CA – A female pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital after being hit by a semi-truck early Thursday morning at an intersection in Tulare.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 12:23 a.m., May 21, on westbound Avenue 232 at Road 76.

The CHP report did not give details about what caused the semi-truck to hit the pedestrian.

The Tulare County Fire Department and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.

A Life Star medical helicopter was used to airlift the victim to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in unknown condition.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
