Studio City, Calif. – A woman is dead following a pedestrian crash along Interstate 101 Near Studio City early Thursday morning.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 3:51 a.m. on the northbound 1Ventura (101) Freeway at Vineland Avenue on-ramp.
According to the CHP, the pedestrian, described as a woman in her 30s, was located by emergency crews lying in the roadway. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name was withheld pending notification of the family.
The driver remained at the scene and contacted CHP.
101 Freeway was shut down until around 7 a.m. when it was reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
