Victorville, CA – One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday evening in Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on June 19 on Amargosa Road near Smoke Tree Road.
Investigators said a sedan was traveling northbound on Amargosa Road when an SUV driven by a 33-year-old Apple Valley man allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the vehicle.
The impact caused major damage to both vehicles. The sedan sustained significant front-end damage, while the SUV overturned and came to rest on its roof off the roadway.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and treated the occupants. The driver of the sedan suffered injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
Authorities later determined the SUV driver, identified as Ivan Beltran, was allegedly under the influence at the time of the collision. He was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
The Victorville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash.
